Greene King has announced a major strategic shake-up involving approximately 300 of its managed pubs across the UK. While the company has confirmed that pubs in Dorset, including Weymouth, are part of this review, they have not yet released a specific public list of the individual sites earmarked for sale.
The overhaul includes the following plans for the 300 affected sites:
- 150 Pubs for Sale: Roughly half of the identified venues are expected to be put up for sale.
- 150 Pubs for Conversion: The remaining sites will be converted into tenanted or franchised venues (such as Hive or Nest pubs) rather than being managed directly by Greene King.
- 20 Closures: A small number of sites (fewer than 2% of their managed estate) are scheduled for permanent closure as part of typical annual adjustments.
