Dying example of a traditional family friendly backstreet local, located 10 minutes from Dorchester South station (use down side exit). Until recently (May 2024) this was a Marstons pub with a Market Rent Only agreement, but has now been sold to Red Oak Taverns so it is uncertain whether this arrangement still stands. Laid out on two levels the pub has soft furnishings with sporting events shown in the top part of the pub on a large screen. The lower drinking area is set out in a sitting room style with more soft furnishing. Look out for the old baking ovens and the numerous Eldridge Pope memorabilia that decorates the walls. A small out-door drinking/smoking area has recently been added.
