The Swan Inn in Abbotsbury is still temporarily closed following a severe electrical fire that broke out in the pub’s roof on the morning of January 14, 2026. Thankfully, no injuries were reported.
While the owners and staff are eager to reopen, the necessary repair and remedial work has faced frustrating delays while waiting for the insurance company to assess the damage and sign off on the claims.
Publican, Graham Roper, plans to be celebrating his 60th year running the Swan Inn this November.
